blog/site design update

Jeff at work

It’s that time again. As a designer with serious A.D.D., I cannot leave anything alone for very long, and this includes my website, blog, motorcycle, and everything else I call my own.

If you’ve been on my blog over the past few days you’ve probably seen strange things happening. Over the next few days you’ll see even more strange things happening. Don’t freak out, it’s just me experimenting with my blog themes and other stuff. I’m right smack in the middle of trying to learn the WordPress core as well as theme design, and will be using my own ProjectPIXL blog to experiment on. I’m also trying to learn Drupal and will soon be converting my entire site to a Drupal CMS driven site with an extended blog area using WordPress, which is basically how it is now except for the Drupal CMS.

The reason I’m doing this is mainly for my own curiosity and learning reasons, but also for my clients. I always have clients requesting CMS based sites with the ability to add and edit content on their own, but didn’t know much about it until now. Having a CMS site will make life easier for myself when it comes to adding new content to my portfolios and free graphics for download, and it will also benefit my clients if I can manipulate a Drupal or WordPress site to work with my designs. It never hurts to learn new things!

So please bear with me as I experiment with my blog. If you see something that isn’t working or looks totally out of place, give it some time, refresh your browser once in awhile, and if the problem doesn’t go away within a reasonable amount of time, by all means let me know! I may forget some changes I’ve made to the code or may forget to upload a template page update, or whatever, and at the end of the day I’m usually too burned out to preview every page to make sure it’s all working properly and I just shut it down and go to bed. This is where a little input from you can help! Don’t be afraid to point out my mistakes!

Thanks in advance for your patience!
